The Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association (LIWLRA) today announced registration for LauraPalooza 2019: All Roads Lead to Laura, the only academic and fan gathering celebrating the literary, historical, and cultural impact of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her Little House books. The conference, which will take place at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin, will feature speeches from Wilder experts William Anderson and Pulitzer Prize winning author, Caroline Fraser, as well as panels, activities, and presentations on a variety of topics related to Wilder and the Little House books.
The theme for 2019’s LauraPalooza conference is All Roads Lead to Laura. This conference celebrates the legacy of the “Little House” series which began in Pepin, Wisconsin in 1867 with Laura’s birth. Another conference highlight includes an exclusive tour of the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum and special picnic lunch at the replica wayside cabin, birth site of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
“We are excited to bring LauraPalooza 2019 to the Badger state, the birthplace of Laura Ingalls Wilder and it’s going to be our best conference yet,” said Barb Mayes Boustead, president of the LIWLRA. Boustead notes that with its unique mix of academic and fan offerings, LauraPalooza is a truly singular event—a uniqueness embodied by its cheeky name and welcoming atmosphere.
